About AIGA China
In response to the dynamics of the global economy, the practice of design is changing rapidly. AIGA China seeks to provide a platform for communication among the institutions that teach design throughout China and the USA, and to support design programs in China that respond to the country’s increasingly strong position in the world.
AIGA has developed extensive resources to support the design profession in the United States—including access to traditional design work, educational curricula, professionals tools and standards—and AIGA China is poised to make this information available to Chinese students and design educators. With the assistance and advice of faculty at CAFA and the AIGA China Advisory Board, these tools and practices will be distributed through the most appropriate channels.
The AIGA China office at CAFA coordinates the flow of information and facilitates stronger professional relationships and intercultural understanding among Chinese and US designers. AIGA China is directed by Amy Gendler, who also serves as a faculty member in CAFA’s School of Design.
